Dr. Dana Price DOM(NM), L.Ac.(AZ), Dipl.OM is state and nationally board-certified to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine which includes the modalities of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Before pursuing Oriental medicine, she received her Bachelors degree from the University of Arizona. She then graduated as valedictorian with a four-year postgraduate Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine degree from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in New Mexico. Her clinical studies were completed with an internship in gynecology and Chinese herbal medicine at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sichuan, China.
Dana Price made the commitment early to specialize in the treatment of women’s health, specifically, fertility enhancement and pregnancy-related disorders. Over the years she has collaborated with many reproductive endocrinologists in the greater Phoenix area and has profoundly enhanced the journey many people take to have a healthy child. Committed to pregnancy and birth she has: published material on high-risk pregnancy and delivery; presented to licensed and nurse-midwives, obstetricians / gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, perinatologists and primary care physicians; accepted residents and medical students to intern in her clinic; and is continually expanding her knowledge by attending educational courses taught by fertility specialists in the United States and abroad.
Dana Price is the founder and president of the Southwest Center for Oriental Medicine and has been in private practice since 1999. She is currently serving as secretary on the newly formed American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and was a professional member on the Arizona State Board of Acupuncture Examiners, the Arizona Society for Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture as well as a faculty member at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.
As an innovator in the field, Dr. Dana Price and the Southwest Center for Oriental Medicine have been featured on Sonoran Living, Your Life A to AZ, local news stations, Conceive magazine, Natural Health magazine, Alternative Medicine magazine, the Arizona Republic, and the Scottsdale Tribune. Sherri Taylor L.Ac., Dipl. OM., Dipl. Ac. |
Sherri Taylor, L.Ac.(AZ and NY), Dipl.OM is state and nationally board-certified to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine which includes the modalities of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She graduated from the New York College of Health Professions, Suma Cum Laude and has obtained national board certification to practice Oriental Medicine. Clinical Studies include interning in the student clinic with post graduate training at a private clinic in New York with emphasis on Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, and Pain Management.
Sherri has been an advocate of health and wellness for most of her life. After graduating with her Bachelor ’s degree, Sherri worked in a small community hospital as an Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab. With this experience, she has cared for many diabetics who concurrently had cardiac and pulmonary disease. Since then, she has had a special interest in the diabetic population to improve their quality of life, and to help them prevent further health complications. Sherri has devoted much time to educating patients on their condition and treatment. She has prescribed exercise programs and has taught exercise classes for patients. She has shown her support for patients by participating with them in fundraising events sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, and the American Heart and Lung Association.
During her graduate training, Sherri continued her research and study with diabetes and was able to apply this knowledge to Oriental Medicine. With her past and present training, she has been able to successfully help patients manage their glucose levels and prevent long term complications with diabetes.
While attending graduate school, Sherri worked for a non profit organization educating young women on the prevention of Breast Cancer. She has done extensive research in this area as well, and has supported various organizations to fund for researching breast cancer.
Sherri continues to be involved in the community by offering her expertise through lectures, writing articles, and volunteer work. She also keeps up to date with the latest medical research by attending ongoing seminars and conferences. She has been a professional member of the Acupuncture Society of New York and is currently a member of The Arizona Society for Oriental Medicine and the American Association for Oriental Medicine.
Throughout her experience Sherri has learned the importance of both Eastern and Biomedical practice of medicine. She believes in the integration of both schools of thought to attain the ultimate level of health and wellness. When she is not helping others, she is enjoying things such as reading, practicing yoga and meditation, and exercising.
